English Paper Piecing Tutorial Series

English Paper Piecing Tutorial Series | Red-Handled Scissors

Just in time for the weather to turn cooler, all three parts of my English paper piecing tutorial series are live and ready for budding quilters. I’m really pleased with how these tutorials turned out, and I’m so excited to share them with you!

Are you ready to try your hand at quilting? (Get it? Hand? Quilting? Hand quilting? Sorry. I couldn’t help myself…) This tutorial series will take you from paper templates to a finished project in three fully-photographed posts: In part 1, you’ll learn the addictive art of stitching hexies. In part 2, you’ll join those hexies into a flower-shaped quilt block. Finally, in part 3, you’ll use your blocks as the basis for a handy English paper piecing travel kit so you can bring your projects anywhere!

Wonderful! I just love, love, love your pouch/travel kit! I have one too, but I start taking so much crap with me I end up with about 4 additional zip lock bags full of stuff. People wonder why I carry such a big back pack all over the city and on the train!

I am starting to teach my children to sew, and this whole series is perfect! We travel 4 hours a week for music lessons, then sit and wait until it is their turn (5 kids, that’s a lot of waiting!). Can’t wait to start them on this project! Thank you!
