Etsy Craft Night: Making Wallets with Kim Grassie

Etsy Craft Night: Making Wallets with Kim Grassie | Red-Handled Scissors
Tonight, I went to the Etsy Labs craft night, where the lovely Kim Grassie taught us how to make simple wallets using fabric scraps.

It took about 10 minutes total—excluding the time spent making friends in line for the sewing machine—to turn this pile of fabric into a cute, tiny wallet that is just the right size to hold business cards or a metro card. (Okay, I’ll be honest. I made friends in line for about 15 minutes, then I got hungry, so I hiked back to my apartment, ate a bowl of vegan chick’n noodle soup, then finished up on my own machine.)

We each made two: one for ourselves, and one to be sent as a surprise crafter-to-crafter gift to a new Etsy seller to encourage them to keep on making.

Isn’t it cute? Now I want to make about 500 more.
